Well it is not clear if you can get away with no swap but with 4
processors each having 4G of RAM your swap should be minimal in most
applications but you can try a swap partition of a given size and if
it looks like more swap is useful you can always add swap in the form
of one or more swap files. There was a time that swap files were
slower than swap partitions but people say that difference in access
speed has been erased so adding swap is easy to do.
