It should be noted that the rhn-applet doesn't work properly on FC4 anyway.

If this is the problem, look at /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources.  The "up2date
default" line should be commented out.  IIRC there may also be something
in /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date, but I can't remember what it is off the top
of my head.
