Crappy HDDs Killing Computers

Over the weekend I came across this issue on my home desktop. One of
the drives started clunking and then the drive stopped. I shutdown the
computer and went to bed. I could not reboot the next day as there was
weird clunking from the drives and the computer would just start
rebooting again.
On further testing I found the the "new (a couple of months old)" power
supply was putting out low +5 volt rail (4.40). This seemed to toast
the HDD, but that is another thread.
