I have gotten this problem in a number of versions of fedora. First,
installing mplayer and mplayer-plugin, etc from livna will allow you to
play videos. But i still have the following problem like yours. I go to
a site with 50 video links. 45 of them play in mplayer. The other 5
giver me the totem cannot play message like yours. Obviously the videos
are in some way different but I have never been able to find out how.
