Also, try the midnight commander clones... bring back the two windows approach...

I also used to use gentoo, so that would be good as well.

I do have to say though nautilus although is a bloated hog is nice to look at.

Not familiar with Thunar, but I like the gentoo file manager; 'yum
install gentoo' from the standard repositories should do it for you.
