Hi Patrick,
> Is the user in the /etc/ftpusers file?
No, these users are not in that file.
> Also, what does /var/log/messages reveal when you try to login?
This shows nothing, but /var/log/secure does :
Feb 28 21:06:04 xine proftpd[11050] xine (192.168.0.2[192.168.0.2]): FTP
session opened.
Feb 28 21:06:08 xine proftpd[11050] xine (192.168.0.2[192.168.0.2]):
PAM(marcel): Authentication failure.
Feb 28 21:06:08 xine proftpd[11050] xine (192.168.0.2[192.168.0.2]): USER
marcel (Login failed): Incorrect password.
I (marcel) log in with the password I have on this machine, so really wonder
why the second line gives me an authentication failure.
Regards,
Marcel
