I haven't seen any activity on the bug other than me
adding additional info. It almost looks like the system
believes I have a raid when in fact I don't (or maybe it
is all due to the /sbin/kpartx glibc malloc abort).

I got yet another kernel update tonight, and I still see
the same behavior.
