hi...

i'm trying to get nfs up/running on a linux server.

from "ps -aux" i seem to be able to see nfs/portmap running.

however, when i do a 'mount 192.168.1.54:/iso /iso2 on the client machine, i
get an err msg...
"mount: 192.168.1.54:/is failed, reason given by server: Permission
denied"

any idea as to what i've missed??

thanks

-bruce

your exports on the server says,
/iso 192.168.1.52

which is giving the ip 192.168.1.52 access to your NFS share, but i'm
guessing that's not what you want. You want to list the client's ip so
that,

/iso clientip(rw)

will give nfs access to the client. You'll also want to make sure you
have the service 'portmap' running as this is necessary for NFS RPC
service. Finally, you'll want to make sure port 111 is open on your
firewall (both tcp and udp)
