I would switch from netwrok to using NetworkManager, and
NetworkManageDispacher. And now there is even a faq below to explain its
use.

I am also a little mystified why you are getting ipw2100 error messages
if your card is a an ipw2200. You seem not to have an ipw2200 module on
your system.
