Removable drives

Is there a way to force FC5 to mount a removable drive to a particular
directory and still maintain the new hot swapping abilities? 

I have found that gtkpod relies on my ipod being mounted in a certain place,
but depending on what else is plugged in at the time (floppy, dvd burner
etc..), it will have a different mount point (/media/disk-1 for example)
