!!!!!   With that you removed all device files that the system had.  I
am surprised that it even operated/booted.  
Although /dev is recreated in the newer versions of Fedora when you
boot, doing that rmdev will totally shut you down with many
distributions/versions of Linux until you manually recreate the /dev
entries for your hardware.

Your choice to blindly follow instructions without knowing the
consequences is the reason there are hundreds of thousands of
viruses/trojans/worms on that other os (combined with its inherent
insecure design)
