I have a Toshiba with FC4 and everything is working.  As posted by
others, you will have to look at the specs for each model before
purchasing.  I did this and still ended up with an issue between drive
types.  The specs said IDE drives and the BIOS showed SATA drives.

I made sure that I had nvidia graphics as this made life easier because
I needed 3d support which I never got working on any newer ATI card I
have ever tried. (2 yrs ago).

With the latest kernel in FC4, I can even use the card reader that
wouldn't work when I first got the laptop.
