I guess my counter-point is that I have never had any trouble in
configuring non-postscript printers through cups and the right drivers.
I have two such printers in my home network.
But , of course, I have not tried this with all the non-postscript
printers there are in existence. So I can't deny that someone might have
problems in this arena.
