I performed the previous post before reading this one. But it seems to err:
[root at localhost ~]# echo "base=d0000000 size=0x10000000
type=write-combining" > /proc/mtrr
-bash: echo: write error: Invalid argument
[root at localhost ~]# ls /proc/mtrr
/proc/mtrr
[root at localhost ~]#

Now, when I cat the file:

[root at localhost ~]# cat /proc/mtrr
reg00: base=0x00000000 (   0MB), size=2048MB: write-back, count=1
reg01: base=0x7ff00000 (2047MB), size=   1MB: uncachable, count=1
reg02: base=0xd0000000 (3328MB), size=  16MB: write-combining, count=1
[root at localhost ~]#

I'm pretty sure that was not there yesterday, however. I'll reboot,
try a DVD, and report back.
