Yes.

It's not clear from your post what is happening.
How did you go about "setting up the i.p address and
stuff?"  What do you mean by "fedora dosent register
my wireless card."

Does the output of /sbin/lspci include
'Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection'?

Have you blacklisted the iwlwifi module?  Is the ipw3945
daemon successfully started at boot?  Is there another
OS on this machine (Ubuntu, XP etc.) under which the
network controller works?
