Package managers gone haywire! yum, apt, rpm: pam fixed now but selinux is borked

I should add to this, that each time I've enabled selinux and gotten those 
floods of messages, it drops me to a shell prompt and suggests a fsck - each 
time I've run that, and it comes up clean
