It depends how you set it up and how good the qemu layer handling the
serial work is. It also critically depends upon whether they do busy
precise timing loops - those won't virtualise and there is hardware out
there which bitbangs busses which simply doesn't work in a virtualised
environment where it can get scheduled against other code.
