HAL is adding extra printers to my printer list.

As I said, I have a non-working HAL-generated printer - it's been there since 
I installed FC6.  I never bothered trying to get rid of it.  If it would 
help, in terms of getting info for a bug report, I'll do that and see what 
happens.
