f8: NetworkManager + runlevel 3 problem

Again, NM is not tied to GNOME. There is a KDE frontend and other 
software can use it's API to detect the status of the network. In the 
near future, it is likely that a separate network service would be 
replaced by NetworkManager when NetworkManager get's static IP support 
and other related things.
