Problems with jedit on Fedora Core 8 (xcb_xlib error )

Hello,
I had installed JEdit on x86_64, Fedora Core 8;
 I am getting the follwoing error afer starting jedit:
"java: xcb_xlib.c:50: xcb_xlib_unlock: Assertion `c->xlib.lock' failed.
Abort"

Googling for it shows some error in Ubuntu ; the workaround suggested
there does not work.


(Add "export LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=1", see

Any ideas ? does anybody had success with JEdit on FC8  ?
