Re: can't get Xnest to work against Fedora 7

I have installed xorg-x11-server-Xnest-1.3.0.0-9.fc7 on my Fedora 7

I have used gdmsetup to make sure that xdmcp and remote connections are
enabled. I can make connections to RHEL 4 machines with no problem.

On my kubuntu system, I have this:

summer Bandicoot:~$ dpkg --status xserver-xephyr
Package: xserver-xephyr
Status: install ok installed
Priority: optional
Section: x11
Installed-Size: 3768
Maintainer: Ubuntu MOTU Developers <ubuntu-motu lists ubuntu com>
Architecture: i386
Source: xorg-server
Version: 1:1.1.1-0ubuntu12.2
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.4-1), libfontenc1, libx11-6, libxau6, libxdmcp6, libxext6, libxfont1, zlib1g (>= 1:1.2.1)
Description: Nested X server
Xephyr is an advanced nested X server. It is similar to Xnest but it supports
modern extensions such as Render, RandR, and Composite.
Original-Maintainer: Debian X Strike Force <debian-x lists debian org>
summer Bandicoot:~$

I've not yet tried to talk to F with it, but it works with tikanga-clone.

btw This is a whole lotta fun:
ssh -X bandicoot (or your choice)
summer Bandicoot:~$ startkde
