I was putting off installing things like new video drivers until I had
my system working right. I have the Xwindows "nv" driver installed. I
will now replace it with the lvnia nvidia driver to see if that makes a
difference.
Thanks for your ideas. A fresh approach always gets one out of a
thinking rut .
