Michael,You're right - I can see from dmesg that the driver is loading and not finding the right model, and then trying to guess from some BIOS settings. I can see people on the forums having some luck with setting the model= option on the driver so I'll have a play with some of those. I'm going to get the very latest alsa driver build and have a go with all the model options on that and then if no luck join the mailing list and report my findings there.
