I'm not sure if Pilgrim is implementing this or not, but prelinking the 
installed data directory
before squashing it and making the ISO image is what we do with Kadischi 
built images.
This allows the binary files and such to be pre-prelinked and thus will 
result in some faster booting times perhaps
only a minor improvement, but is nevertheless a good idea.
