I don't think the bios is properly disabling acpi.  Mine boots just fine 
if you leave ACPI on in the BIOS but put 'acpi=off' on the kernel 
boot line (as Warren suggested).  There's still an oops during bootup, but 
it powers through and boots all the way up.  The contents of 
/var/log/dmesg (including the non-crashing oops) after a successful boot 
are here:
