Just installed Arjan's 2.6.0-0.test7.1.56 kernel and I get the same
behavior, output for /var/log/messages when I insert the pcmcia card:
Oct 15 01:15:14 suburbia cardmgr[3200]: socket 0: 11 Mbps Wireless PC
Card
Oct 15 01:15:14 suburbia kernel: cs: memory probe 0xa0000000-0xa0ffffff:

Oct 15 01:15:14 suburbia cardmgr[3200]: executing: 'modprobe orinoco_cs'

'orinoco_cs'!
Oct 15 01:15:14 suburbia cardmgr[3200]: bind 'orinoco_cs' to socket 0

when I remove the card, I get the following:
Oct 15 01:15:54 suburbia cardmgr[3200]: executing: 'modprobe -r
orinoco_cs'
Oct 15 01:15:54 suburbia cardmgr[3200]: executing: 'modprobe -r orinoco'
