The version of gftp that comes with FC 2 for X86-64 is broken. This is fixed in the latest version of gftp 2.0.17. There is a bugzilla report telling this yet no one has udpated it... http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=114935
