x86_64 and Radeon 9600

"vesa" worked for me.  Thanks for the tip.  When I tried to use 
"radeon", the Fedora Core splash screen was displayed but none of the 
modules would load.

I changed the runlevel from 3 to 5 in /etc/inittab and it now starts X 
automatically on boot.
