cdrecord --scanbus shows just one thing

Hi,

cdrecord --scanbus is showing just my scanner. Has anything changed so
that it doesn't show my CD and DVD records? Both my DVDRW and CDRWs are
listed in grub.conf as being ide-cd

Using the 2.6.3-1.116 kernel, selinux is off.
