i agree.  i was just addressing the specific issue that putting
/usr/X11R6/lib into ld.so.conf was too precise.  i find it hard to believe
that one or more missing directories listed in ld.so.conf would cause
anything to break.  that would represent kind of a fragile situation,
wouldn't it?
