Was this a fresh install of rawhide?  The xorg.conf synaptics sections
do not look like the ones rhpl generates.

Can you backup your xorg.conf and run

system-config-display --reconfigure

Then mail the generated xorg.conf to me, also the output of
cat /proc/bus/input/devices.
