"Configuring kernel parameters" stalls

You need to remove the 'rhgb' boot option :
1. On the first grub screen, quickly press 'a'
2. edit the kernel boot command line to remove rhgb

It was thought this problem (bug #135134) was fixed 
with kernel-2.6.9-1.639+ - please report exactly which
kernel and xorg version you are using.
