X configuration

I have just installed a pre-release of FC3T2 and it didn't ask me for the 
screen resolution and gave a default install of 800x600 (yuk).

I have just started an install of FC3T2 and it gives the same result.  Is it 
my imagination or is this feature suddenly missing?

I'm asking here because I can't believe that this slipped through and figure 
that I must have stuffed something up somehow.
