Tuboprint - anyone else using and getting printout?

After some investigation, it turns out this behavior is influenced by 
SELinux.  With SELinux enabled and enforced, the above behaviour exists.

If SELinux is set to permissive or disabled, the Turboprint/Canon 
printer combination works fine.
