The command "yum remove kernel-2.6.14-1.1740_FC5" as root failed with message "error: %preun(kernel-2.6.14-1.1740_FC5.i686) scriptlet failed, exit status 255". I was then able to remove the 1740 kernel with "setenforce 0" and then "yum remove kernel-2.6.14-1.1740_FC5". Stanton Finley http://stanton-finley.net/
