I may get the
time today to try a setup with 2 independent raid devices on the same
two disks, but maybe not. It's kind of a weird thing to do...
Kind of, the logical disks will compete for the stepper motors, but I'm
limited to 2 physical disks, and I want a "reliable" area and as much
space as possible for the remainder, this box will eventually be a HTPC.
I'm not
sure which BIOSes support that configuration, and the box I've got with
AHCI I can't test on today.
I think it is quite rare for the "fake" raid devices to support this,
but any "real" raid controller worth it's salt would do it, any board
which has ICH7R should do it, and RAID5 too (though I note you're not
ready for that yet, and as I only have two disks I can't use anyway)
