I can't find the tools I would like to check that.  Please suggest something.

The two devices are flash drives, 256M and 512M respectively, vfat file 
system.  They mount on the 32bit FC3 machine upon which I am writing this.  I 
did not attempt to connect a 8G harddrive with a single ext3 partition on it.  
yet.
