disk mounter 2.14.0 problem

gnome, i use gnome desktop.
Well, i first had a problem when i tried to erase cdrw using k3b on 
gnome, because k3b couldn't umount the cdrw and then failed to erase it.
but now i see that gnome-applet doesn't offer this choice
