Hello Mick
the version 1.0.4-1 of cairo is available under:
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/5/
and the i386 or x86_64.
The command syntax to install the package is:
# rpm -U cairo-1.0.4-1.i386.rpm --force --nodeps
or
# rpm -U cairo-1.0.4-1.x86_64.rpm --force --nodeps
respectively. --nodeps is required because of unsatisfied dependencies
which could be ignored (in my case).
After that a
# /sbin/ldconfig
is required.
Unfortunately these steps are required after each "yum update", because
this will reinstall the newest cairo version. The addition of option
"--exclude=cairo" will abort the update process because of unsatisfied
dependencies.
