I believe you need a video card that supports accelerated 3d and the
proper OpenGL extensions and I know the nv driver does not support
accelerated 3d and I don't think that the nvidia drivers supports all of
the proper extensions (I could be wrong on this as I don't have an
nvidia card).

The video card status on this page should give you a rough idea of
supported cards
