pirut not starting

Sorry about replying to myself.

It looks like there is something that needs to be added to the pirut 
package. Possibly a "requires". Below is a list of 47 packages that I 
installed on my system and fixed the problem with pirut not starting. 
One of the list apparently is needed by pirut but is not required by the 
package.
