The drive shows up in my computer but on attempting to
use the mount menu
option I get a small box with a white cross on an icon
and a button with OK
on it and another box titled error with a message
saying Unable to mount media and suggestinng that
there is probably no media in the drive.

So some of the symptoms are as those described in
