I have to throw in my 2 cents worth...

Personally I _do_ want to keep seeing an 'everything' option.

On my development machine, I want to be able to _easily_ install everything
so that a) i've got it all already, just in case I find I need it in an
emergency, b) I can peruse the stuff at my leisure ('apropos' is your
friend).
to learn about all my options (I.e. yesterday I accidentally learned
about software to manage files on my Motorola cell phone. To bad its not
in the 'everything' package. :-) )

On production machine I am very selective about what gets installed
so I would never install 'everything' there.

Choice is good!
