no floppy dir in /media ?

Try 'gnome-mount -d /dev/fd0' instead if you attempt to do that
from a command line (or 'mount /dev/fd0 /some/existing/mount/point'
if you are root).  With the first option use 'gnome-umount' to
unmount that floppy.
