I tried now to run in in qemu
 qemu -boot d -cdrom FD-6.90-i386-LiveCD.iso
and the result is the same.

Same problem here. As /dev is almost empty I bet on udev problem. This is bitolder hardware and FC6 Live CD is working fine so no sata magic.
