That's what I've done. :-)
I used the rawhide-kde-live.i386 image as master and filled it with
packages up to about (uncompressed) 4 GB. The iso image fits on a handy
1.4 GB mini DVD.
>From time to time I chroot into the master, do a yum update and create a
new iso image.
