John Poelstra said the following on 05/16/2007 02:09 PM Pacific Time:
At power up box hangs (keyboard lights blinking) about 50% of the time
while it appears to be starting the network. Running on a Dell
Precision 470. Weird thing is that I power the box off and it boots
fine the next time.

Anyone else seeing this?
No information in /var/log/messages and I don't have a serial cable handy.

Still seeing this problem. Appears to be hanging at "network start" section of boot routine (watching the graphical boot screen).

I performed a more scientific (?) study this time, starting at a complete power off state each time (as opposed to rebooting when I had a successful boot). What is interesting is that it failed almost every other time until it started failing every time. Boot failed 66% of the time.
