With maxcpus=1 my d620 can run the rc2 livecd for kde. But, since I
didn't buy this laptop to run it in single processor mode, I am sticking
to the previous kernel.
Since you knew to recommend this setting, I assume that this is a known
bug and doesn't need a bugzilla report.
