A new /sbin/ip does not accept arguments which were fine for earlier
versions and that spooks /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifdown-post
It looks like that this can be harmful in some setups although for
most simple situations you should not see problems.

and that includes a fix. As it happens this does not really has
adverse consequences (a pure accident) save the nastygram above.
