I see that when I use 'ls' or 'file' as myself (rather than root), I at
least get reasonable answers, though of course they say nothing about
GVFS or Fuse. Also, "fuser .gvfs" returns nothing, even
though /usr/libexec//gvfs-fuse-daemon is running, which is confusing.
